The word weeaboo (often shortened to weeb) is a term that’s incredibly specific to japanese culture. Stretching beyond anime, the title “weeb” is given to individuals who are passionate about all things japanese. Typically, the title “weeb” is applied to. The meaning is skewed towards someone with a love for anime and games, however, especially those who are heavily invested in them.

A weeb is just someone who likes anime or manga. Not culture, not video games, not the language, just anime and manga. While a weeaboo is someone who is so obsessed with japanese culture and everything about japan that it seems weird, annoying and cringe. Otaku is a japanese term for people with consuming interests, particularly in anime and manga. A weeb is always talking about how cute or kawaii his favourite characters are and claiming one of them to be his waifu.
